![]() ![]() He says that if I buy a Martin, he'll set it up and put lighter strings on it, but I don't want to commit to a guitar if it's still going to be about that tough to play. The person at the music shop says that it's because Martin ships their guitars with high action and heavy strings opposed to Taylor who ships them with lower action and lighter strings. ![]() The problem is that every Martin I've played has been orders of magnitude more difficult to play than the comparable Taylors. I'm looking at higher end guitars like Martin and Taylor and I've found myself really enjoying the sound of Martins (my voice is a pretty high tenor/countertenor, so the deeper Martin sounds nice under it). So I'm beginning my search for a new strumming/fingerpicking for folk/pop/rock acoustic guitar that I can call a lifer. ![]()
